I received a phone call last week accepting me to USF and offering a $20,000 Dean’s Merit Scholarship for the first year; it is renewable for the subsequent two years if I am in the top 25% of my class. USF is a solid regional law school, their alumni are well established in the city and with the scholarship, it becomes almost BYU tuition. My great-Uncle Eddie, now a retired Superior Court Judge, graduated from USF.
I am leaning toward Hastings right now, thinking about BYU and waiting for Boalt… Basically, I need to visit some classes and get a feel for the schools…now that Law School is more real than an application I feel the need to get a sense of what the day to day life would be like as a law student at the various schools: (lots of reading and studying!!). I anticipate, with excitement and a bit of trepidation, the opportunity to learn to think in a new way!
