DC Coast–Birthday Dinner

Desert

On the recommendation of a co-worker, Scott and I had dinner at DC Coast on 14th and K. It was great- we started with a yummy pumpkin soup reminiscent of our favorite restaurant in Budapest, and the “Exotic Mushroom and Goat Cheese Anaheim Chili Relleno.” I had the evening’s fish special, mahi mahi served on a bed of spinach and polenta, and Scott had the creole spiced salmon. They were both excellent. Although we were pretty sated, when the waiter offered, I had to look at the dessert menu. We took the waiter’s suggestion and had the gianduja (pictured above), a sweet Italian chocolate bar with hazelnut and almond paste. It came with an amazing salted caramel ice cream. Scott and I are still talking about it. Yummy!
