Photoshop Express – new photo sharing site

A new player on the photo sharing market: Adobe. Not a small name.

The makers of Photoshop have made a significant foray into the community (“web 2.0″) space with Photoshop Express. Express shares some features with its competitors like Flickr (owned by Yahoo!) and Picasa (owned by Google), but it differentiates itself in one expected way: photo tweaking.

photoshop express First of all, Express has a beautiful interface, which is very easy to work in (requires Flash 9). But, it also is missing several important features, such as integration with Flickr, batch editing of photos, and the inability to embed flash galleries on your own blog (you can link, but not truly embed).

But, those are small potatoes compared to what it CAN do. Overall, it’s a nice place to put your photos, especially considering the ease of uploading. Also, Express has a nice gallery interface and an easy-to-use photo editor. It’s the closest in feel on the web to photo organizing software (Lightroom, Aperture), bot a long way from being a fierce competitor to Flickr.
