Back in DC after a surprisingly long day of travel. As the crow flies, the distance traveled is not far relative to some of my longer travel days. But today was unusual because of the different methods of transportation:
we hitched a ride from the hotel to the ferry station.
ferry to Rockland
car to Portland
a very important stop at LL Bean headquarters.
flight to DC (that’s the Maine coast in the photo)
long bus ride to Rosslyn station. At this point I decided to walk – too much time in moving things.
long walk across Georgetown to pick up the scooter.
home stretch.
Which was the best one? (Don’t calculate your carbon footprint for this trip…!)
best was the ferry ride. worst, a toss up between the walking through georgetown while I was not feeling well – or, the 5A bus when I got sick.
