Today's photo was submitted by Chappy Rago, a colleague who is currently working on a poverty relief project in Haiti. He described this photo: "I took this shot in Haiti while interviewing women in extreme poverty eking out a life for their families, and more importantly, their children's futures. It occurred to me that capturing the children in my documenting was just as important as getting a shot of their mothers. This one, taken in Boukankare, illustrates the youthfullness, as well as the maturity, that life in poverty makes necessary."

this image tugs at my heart strings. The child in the middle especially looks burdened way beyond what a kid his age ought to be.
Tugs at my heart strings too, Robin. You can tell by the color of his hair that the boy on the right is malnourished and yet look at his smile!
