Photo: Chappy Rago. I've been thinking about the people in Haiti for several days. I remembered that I have a couple of photos submitted to Pixelshot by a young journalist who was there recently. Chappy captured this shot while visiting with one of the families. I am very sad to report (see comments below) that this precious child was killed in the earthquake.
Unfortunately, the most recent news I’ve received counts among the dead in Fondwa, Haiti (the epicenter of the quake)the 2 year-old photographed above. His name was Jude. While he was an orphan from birth, the Sisters preferred to take care of him personally rather than leave him at the orphanage just down the road. He was a constant source of joy for those visiting and his smile was something of a prize for all of us to try and squeeze out of him. RIP
