I have always loved the idea of recording and creating stories. It seems to be driven by an inner need to know myself and other people better, deeper, more truthfully. It’s fueled by my thrill in using a new technology in a new way – a kind of exploration I guess. Stack on top of all that a passion for the visual arts, most clearly manifested for me in a photograph or moving image, and you can understand a little more about how Pixelshot came to be.
I have made a concerted effort to focus these interests into something productive, something meaningful. In 2008, I started a freelance video company, Pixelshot Media LLC, to be a mechanism through which I can further explore these interests for myself and for my clients. In the last 8 years, I have worked hard to satisfy the visual needs of my clients, all of which have stayed with me for many years.
In 2015 my family relocated from Washington, DC to Denver, Colorado where I continue my quest to find great stories and relate them to others. I take pride in the ability to create professional visual images, moving or still, using a lean setup when appropriate – DSLR and minimal equipment – or working with a crew. Keeping lean means minimizing costs and reduces the camera intimidation factor. To see some of my projects, please see my Showreel on the Services page.
I have gained a particular love for short documentary films which can tell a unique story that may only need a few minutes rather than a feature length.
I’m always on the lookout for collaborators and new ideas so please feel free to contact me. Also, follow along on my blog adventures in the Pixelshot Creative Lab as I continue to explore and share with others.
